Stacey Kay Paysse

Stacey Paysse, 53, was called to heaven on April 25, 2013 after an inspiring long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family at the Hospice of Spokane. Stacey was born in Othello, WA and raised in Royal City, WA. She went to Royal High School where she excelled in Academics, Softball, Tennis and Photography. After high school, she pursued her interest in photography by enrolling at Spokane Falls Community College and obtaining her AA in that field. After college she worked as a secretary for an insurance company for a couple of years. She then went to work for Dr. Ryan, a dermatologist in Spokane. During her ten years in Spokane she made many lifelong friends. Stacey moved back to Royal City in 1987 after she married her husband, Bill. After her two wonderful children Connor and Caitlin were born, Stacey once again pursued her photography interest. Being a “people person”, she loved photographing weddings, families, and graduations. She also enjoyed doing dance and sports pictures at Royal School District. Stacey enjoyed working part time as a secretary at both the middle school and high school. She loved the challenge and interaction with both the students and faculty. Stacey’s greatest passion was for her family. She involved herself completely into their well-being and made sure they got her very best. Stacey endeavored to teach her children respect for others and how to deal with adversity through her own shining example. She was also a very active participant in supporting their many school and sports activities. Stacey loved playing baseball in school and later as an adult she enjoyed watching it. She liked watching the high school team play and baking them no-bake cookies for the boys to eat in between double headers. Stacey made many friends in the community and through her photography business. She was loved and respected by all of them. She is survived by her husband Bill Paysse, her two children Connor and Caitlin, her mom Joann Hargraves, her father Phillip Villegas, her sister Kelly DeLay and brother in law Kelly DeLay (along with their three boys Bryan, Jordan and Dylan), her brother John Villegas and his wife Lisa (along with their three boys Sam, Travis and James), and finally a half brother, Randy Jero. Stacey was preceded in death by her grandparents Sam and Mary Hargraves and Angel and Guadalupe Villegas. Cancer may have taken Stacey’s body from us, but her spirit will live on in our hearts and the community. The Paysse Family would like to thank the community for all of the love and support they showed Stacey during her long and heroic battle with cancer. She was a truly remarkable woman, and we will all miss her deeply. Memorial Service will be held at Royal High School, Saturday, May 4th 2013 at 11A.M. Immediate family will have private graveside service after this memorial and asks that you share memories of Stacey at a reception and luncheon in the High School Cafeteria where the family will join you shortly.
