November 13, 1945 - December 29, 2018
Wanda Helen Klindworth, longtime Moses Lake resident, age 73, went to be with her Lord on December 26th, 2018. She passed quietly, of natural causes, at her home in Moses Lake. Wanda was born November 13th, 1945 in Hohenfels, Germany, to John and Stella Strzelczyk. During the occupation of Poland in WWII, the Strzelczyk family spent the war years in the slave labor camps. Once liberated, they were transported to a Displaced Persons camp in Hohenfels, where Wanda was born. In August of 1949, through the Catholic Church, the family left Bremerton, Germany on the USS General Hersey, arriving at the Port of Boston. They were first placed in Fairfield, Montana, and later on the Frank Marshal farm in Harlem, Montana. The farm was purchased in 1956. In July of 1964, Wanda married Herman Dean Klindworth, of Hogeland, Montana, and had three children, Connie, James, and John. The family relocated to Moses Lake in the Spring of 1973. Wanda worked in the service industry in Moses Lake, and became acquainted with many of its residents over many years. She took employment with Takata Industries, and retired from the workforce in 1992. Wanda loved quilting, knitting, fishing, and what she loved the most was spending time around as much family as possible. Wanda always put family first, and could be counted on to help family whenever it was needed, no matter her own circumstances. She is preceded in death by her husband Dean, and her sister, Christine. She is survived her siblings Stefan Strzelczyk of Montana, Theresa Ivey of Georgia, Dorothy Harris of Montana, and Alexa Strzelczyk of Moses Lake; by her children, Connie, James, and John, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, as well as her beloved nephew and niece, Jeremiah and Amanda Strzelczyk, also of Moses Lake. Wanda preferred the informal and familiar for events and socializing. Therefore, an informal memorial will be held at Chico’s Pizza, her favorite restaurant, January 7th, 2019 at 5 p.m., to tell stories, share memories, and take some good times from a sad passing. Pizza will be provided, and all who knew and loved her are encouraged to attend.
