Phyllis Vianne Lowther

April 24, 1929 - March 22, 2022

Phyllis Vianne Lowther passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Brookdale Hearthstone Assisted Living. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories. Honorary Urnbearers will be her grandchildren: Jennifer Casey, Scott Geerdes, Brandton Harvey and Blayne Harvey. Phyllis was born on April 24, 1929 in Plentywood Montana to Nels and Anna (Klakken) Ekstedt. The family moved to Noxon, Montana where she graduated from high school in 1947. After graduation Phyllis moved to Spokane, WA and went to Kinman Business University. She worked for Jensen Bird Hardware and on August 30, 1952 married Richard (Dick) Lowther. They settled for a brief period of time in Spokane, moving to Moses Lake in 1953. Throughout her working career Phyllis worked as a bookkeeper/office manager for J.C. Penny B & D Automotive, which she and husband Dick were part owner. She also worked for Able Building Supply, Leaf Volkswagen and Ponderosa Motors. Phyllis was active in Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Camp Fire Girls leader and Red Hats. She enjoyed being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Also, she loved entertaining a houseful of people. She is survived by daughters: Julie (Jerome) Geerdes, Blackduck, MN; Kerry (Tim) Harvey, Pateros, WA.; Daughter-in-law, Theresa Lowther; four grandchildren, Jennifer(Justin) Casey, Scott(Stephanie) Geerdes, Brandton Harvey and Blayne Harvey. 5 great grandchildren; Beckett Geerdes, Jaymenson Casey, Josephine Casey, Riley Rockensock and Kaelan Rockensock. Brother-in-law, Russell Lowther, Tulsa, OK.; several nieces and nephews , and Special Friend, Manord Rucker. She is proceeded in death by husband, Richard; son, Richard Lynn and brothers Bradley and Kenneth Ekstedt and dearly loved cousin and best friend, Shirley Morton. Phyllis will be remembered for her smile and laughter. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and anyone whom she had in her life. A celebration gathering will be at the Elks Club, 814 Stratford Rd., Moses Lake, immediately following the service.
