Maria Estela Adame, “Estela”, the matriarch of the family, age 90, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 5th, 2022. She passed away peacefully at her home in Moses Lake, Washington. Estela was born in Crystal City, Texas to Fortunato and Maria Martinez. Estela married Concepcion Aldabazo Adame in 1951. For several summers, along with other families from Texas, they came to Moses Lake to work and in 1959 made Moses Lake their permanent home, the families remained lifelong friends. Estela was the mother of 9 children and entered the workforce after being widowed at a young age. She worked as a lead housekeeper, then as a cook while raising 8 of her children which were still living at home. Despite any struggles, she was a strong example of independence, strength, and determination to her children. Estela was passionate about her Catholic faith and her faith sustained her, she trusted in God and he always provided. Estela found joy in the simple things. She enjoyed cooking for family especially over the holidays-making tamales and goodies, she had fresh tortillas and a pot of beans ready for whoever stopped by to visit, baking amazing cakes for special occasions, she loved to plant flowers in her garden, watching her novelas, always enjoyed a good party to dress for, spending time with friends and what made her the happiest and kept her heart full was being with her family-sons, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren she loved them all. Estela will be missed by Lilly, her fur-baby, who laid by her side and loved her dearly. Estela is survived by her 6 children, Rolando, Roy, David (Carmen), Nelvia (Cliff), Patsy (Gino), and Sandy (Keto). She is also survived by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Estela is preceded in death and welcomed into heaven by her husband Concepcion Adame, her sons Oscar Martinez, Cesar and Javier Adame, her grandsons Rolando and Gabriel Adame, and her great-grandson Bryce Adame. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. Her celebration of life will be held on: Monday, May 16th, 2022. Rosary/Viewing: Kayser’s Chapel of Memories: 10:00 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial: Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church: 1:00 P.M. 200 North Dale Rd. Moses Lake, WA Pioneer Memorial Gardens to follow and reception at Zamora Park.
