Leah Nora Evans
April 15, 1962 - May 1, 2019
Leah was raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Royal City, Washington until she joined the USA Air Force for four years. There she met the father of her children and had two children. During their divorce she moved back to Moses Lake, WA where she went to Big Bend Community College to become a Registered Nurse, graduating in 1990. She was a Registered Nurse for 29 years. She has worked in various areas of nursing, her most notable are Home Health/Hospice, private duty special needs pediatrics, and adult family home for acute care adults. While she was working in the Home Health/Hospice sector she met her long time significant other David McLean and they were together for 21 years. For the past 10 years she worked at Weeping Ridge Estate and ended there as Director of Nurses. She ended her career by becoming a School Nurse for Royal School District this last school year. Leah loved being a mother and grandmother. She would never turn anyone in need away. She was one of a kind who helped hundreds through difficult times by loving them, encouraging them and empowering them as only she could. She did have her loud moments, but that was just her personality. Leah is survived by her significant other David McLean; daughter Danielle Evans (Shawn Hardt); son David Evans; adopted daughter Amy (Tony) Ruiz; daughter-in-law Jayme (Shawn) Miller; mother and step-father Patricia and Gilbert “Gene” Stoker; two grandsons; 10 adopted grandchildren and many others whom she adopted as her family. Leah is preceded in death by her brother Randy Stoker. All of these she loved deeply and was loved deeply by in return. A celebration of life will be held May 12 at Crestview Christian School & Brite Beginnings in Moses Lake at 3 p.m. with a reception to follow. Light foods and refreshments will be available with potluck welcome.
