Joseph Lynn Speiser

Joseph Lynn Speiser, age 79, entered Heaven on April 13, 2017 in Moses Lake, Washington. Joseph is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary, whom he married in Fayette County, Illinois in 1956, Joe is also survived by his son Charles and his daughter Joni (Don) Harris.. He was born is Hillsboro, Illinois on May 28, 1937 to parents Charles William Speiser and Elta Weisner (nee) McDonald. He graduated Champaign High School in 1955 and served our country in the Naval Reserves. Joe was a carpenter by trade and rose through the ranks to become Superintendent and Construction Manager on several large projects in and around Illinois and Indiana. On a personal level he bred, trained, and showed Basset Hounds. His kennel produced over 100 AKC Champions over time. He was an avid University of Illinois sports fan and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends - especially Pitch and Euchre. Joe was also a 32nd Degree Mason. As an adult he managed the same family farm where he had spent so much treasured time with his grandparents growing up. Known as "Pap" by all his grand and great grand children, he will be missed by all.
