May 27, 1947 - September 30, 2020
Joanne S. Reich went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 30, 2020 with her loving husband by her side after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Joanne S. Reich was born on May 27, 1947 to John and Marjorie Cline in St. Paul, Minnesota. She met her husband, Forrest A. Reich while on vacation in Idaho. After a whirlwind romance, they were married three weeks later on September 22, 1972. Forrest and Joanne just celebrated 48 years of marriage on September 22, 2020. Forrest and Joanne made their home in Minnesota for a year before settling in Moses Lake where Forrest took over the family farm operation. In November 1975, their first daughter Amy was born and in January 1979 they welcomed their second daughter, Tia. Joanne was a stay at home wife and mother for many years. She kept busy baking, canning, tending her garden and yard, sewing, keeping a tidy house and being a 4-H leader. If there was an activity her girls wanted to participate in and there was no 4-H leader, Joanne always stepped up and said “I’ll be the leader”. When her youngest daughter graduated from high school, Joanne became a caregiver. This was something she enjoyed immensely. Even though Joanne rarely sat still, you could find her most mornings reading her bible and a lot of evenings crocheting afghans. Joanne made many afghans and quilts and donated those to New Hope and Crossroads until the Alzheimer’s took that ability away from her. We will always remember our wife and mom for her quiet kindness, her love for the Lord and her family, her silliness, her creativity, her strength, determination and her will to never give up. Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, John and Marjorie Cline and her brother, Tom Hannon. She is survived by her husband, Forrest A. Reich, her daughters, Amy (George) Ottmar, and Tia Reich, her grandson, Josh Ottmar, her sister, Bonnie (Lee) Dordal, her mother-in-law, Ardell Reich, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glenn and Tricia Reich, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Connie Hemmert and several nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Claudia Cook, Linda Dykema, Pat Gordon, Dr. Hollie Matthews and Penny Weber for the love, care and concern they gave to Joanne over the last few months of her life. We love and appreciate you all more than you know. No service is planned at this time. A memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
