Haddon Blue Durbin

January 24, 1980 - February 3, 2018

In August 2008 Blue was diagnosis with Leukemia. He fought a valiant battle finding the courage and strength from the depth and breadth of his love of others. Though he won the battle against the Leukemia; his body could not recover from the devastation of the treatments. On February 3, 2018, Blue passed away. He was always optimistic and positive, never grumbling, no pity party for this kid. No matter what came up, he would always say “It could be worse”. The admiration that I have for my son during his battle is beyond words. Blue never met a person that he didn’t like. To him there were no strangers; everyone was a friend that he just had not met yet. I’ll forever be proud of the special person he became. He was a blessing. He was an easy child to raise, just give him the out of doors and he was happy. He was always respectful. He was never shy about publicly displaying his love for me, even during those awkward early teenage years when most withdraw from open expression of love. I miss those hugs and long to hear his words say I love ya Mom. The silence is painful. What a blessing he was! I miss ya so……………………….. Blue had found his soul mate, the love of his life, Natalie. If you were ever around them, the magnetism was obvious. She fit into the family like a key can only fit into its lock. She was the one that was meant to be. She was persistently at his side through thick and thin. The Leukemia was her battle too! The sorrow is crushing for their unfulfilled dreams and their life’s expectations. I’ve been in a fog, emotionally spinning in circles within my thoughts. The grief of Blue’s loss has been overwhelming. Blue would not want us to remain in such desolation, so we will step forward, one day at a time. His Father, Natalie and I would like to invite you to Celebrate Blue’s Life on June 9th at 1:00pm at our house (9610 Stone Rd. NE) in Moses Lake. Hope to see you then, Blue’s Mom, Roxanne
