Gloria Crawford

February 1, 2022

Gloria Crawford left this world February 1st, 2022. Whether you called her Goldie or Grandma, family or friend, she was a beautiful and rock solid presence in so many lives and we are all better for it. Gloria was born in 1947 in Polson, Montana. She was the daughter of Albert and Betty Seifert and grew up on Flathead lake with her brother and two sisters. She never missed the opportunity to water ski or attend a dance in those days. Gloria loved to sew, and would often create a new outfit to wear out almost every Saturday night. Throughout High School she always had a job and was an extremely hard worker. She graduated from Polson High School in 1965 and moved to Denver, Colorado to attend Central Business College. She graduated in 1966 as a legal secretary and moved back to Polson and took a job with McCurdy Law Firm. She fell in love with James Crawford and the two were married in June of 1969. Gloria and Jim spent several years in Spokane before moving to Moses Lake – the place they would call home. Gloria worked for a number of law firms before making her lasting career of 33 years at Calbom & Schwab. Not only did she love her job, she loved people and made many lasting friendships over the years. From traveling, to watching car and boat races, and time at the casino she maximized experiences with friends. She loved to entertain and cook. She was a huge WSU Cougar fan, naturally, when two of the most precious people in her life became players, she became the ultimate fan. She loved to celebrate the 4th of July, she loved big family get togethers, and playing games. Gloria was an organized woman who never forgot a birthday or anniversary. You could always expect a hand written card to be in your mailbox a day or two early. She was famous for her fried chicken and mashed potatoes, and you always knew she had the fixings to make the most incredible ice cream sundae at a moment's notice. There is a whole generation of kids who will never forget her giant candy drawer as long as they live. Gloria’s heart was big. And while she didn't have any biological children, she sure had a lot of people in her life that she treated like her own. We will all miss her. Gloria is survived by her husband James Crawford, Mother-in-Law Millie Crawford, sister-in-law Myrna Kershaw, sister Kathleen Hartsoch, Sister-in-Law Peggy Seifert, several nieces and nephews, and the entire Raymond family. Friends and family are invited to honor her incredible life on Wednesday, February 9th at 2:00 pm. The celebration of her life will be held at the Moses Lake Alliance Church (1100 N Grape Dr Moses Lake, WA 98837) with a reception immediately following. Gloria will be laid to rest the following day, Thursday, February 10th at 11:15am at the Washington State Veteran’s Cemetery (21702 W Espanola Rd, Medical Lake, WA 99022).
