Earl Albert Short

December 24, 1939 - October 15, 2020

Earl Albert Short, 80, passed peacefully at home with his wife and “Sig” by his side on October 15, 2020. He was born in Yreka, CA to Robert Short and Violet Haberather in 1939. He attended schools in Enterprise Central Valley and Shasta High School in Redding, CA, graduated from Shasta High School in 1957. After high school he enlisted in the US Navy where he was stationed in Pensacola, FL. Upon discharge he returned to Redding where he married and had 2 children, James and Teresa. Earl worked in the Northern California area in wholesale and water well drilling. Moved to Moses Lake in 1974 working for Layne Western Drilling. In 1978 he met Karen and they moved to Auburn, WA. They married on June 14, 1980 in Auburn and together raised her son Phillip. Earl worked in the construction industry in outside sales for Inland Foundry and as a dump truck driver. Retiring from Lakeridge Paving in Kent in 2001. Earl and Karen returned to Moses Lake. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending gun shows where he made many friends. Also watching the Green Bay Packers. Most of all he loved cars and they were always immaculate. Earl is survived by his loving wife Karen of 40 years; daughter, Teresa of Redding; stepson, Phillip Campbell; brother, Gary of Redding; 6 grandchildren, Amber of San Francisco, Maddison of Seattle, Kiera of Hilo, Hawaii and Cheyanne, Conner and Mackenzie of Moses Lake. Several nieces, nephews and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and son James.
