Donna Ann Rietz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Donna Ann Rietz, 73, of Moses Lake, WA passed away peacefully on January 8, 2020. She was born in Yakima, WA to Donald and Laura Vickerman on September 17, 1946. She won “Most Beautiful Baby” contest. Shortly there after they moved to Moses Lake, WA to land that was purchased by her parents in WWII. Donna attended Peninsula Frontier Jr. High and Moses Lake High School, graduating in 1965. She married Roger Whitaker the same year and welcomed their son, Gary. In 1969 son, Gavin, arrived. In 1981 she married her best friend, Rick Rietz. They had 39 wonderful years together. She lived her whole life in Moses Lake, never wanting to be anywhere else. Donna worked for over 30 years for the school district as a Special Education Para Professional, receiving awards for her service. She said they were the true angels. Some of her favorite things were black cats, roses, reading mysteries and riding her bike with Rick. We will miss her quick wit and kind heart. Love you to the full moon and back. Preceding her in death were her parents, Donald and Laura Vickerman, Roger Whitaker and Sharon Delong. She is survived by her loving husband Rick Rietz; sons, Gary (Charlene) Whitaker and Gavin Whitaker; sister, Laurie (Farrel) Huntsman; brothers, James (Kathy) Vickerman and Dennis (Jan) Vickerman; 2 granddaughters and 5 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Katie Kendall. A memorial service will be held at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories in Moses Lake, WA on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family requests donation be made to the local animal shelter in her name.
