Cornelia Kae Vandervelden Cornelia “Connie” Vandervelden was born on December 30, 1943 in Chewelah, WA to Cornelius “Clarence” and Bessie Angvick. When Connie was about eight years old, the family moved the Block 40 area, here in Moses Lake, graduating from Moses Lake High School in 1962. Connie met and fell in love with her future husband, Lyle Vandervelden, when he was stationed here in the Air Force. They were married on September 14, 1964. Lyle passed away in April 1998. Connie and Lyle were very active in the car club traveling to car shows with their 1937 maroon Terra Plane, which Connie loved to drive. Connie was active in the Moses Lake Lioness Club serving as president and spent many hours working in the “Space Burger Booth” at the fair. If anyone needed help, Connie was always there to help. Connie was a member of the Red Hat Society and had a huge collection of hats, loved wearing them and was always glad to lend you a hat. Connie loved to play games, including bingo, bunko, poker and a trip to the casino every once in a while. Connie loved to travel. She could pack and ready to go in an hour or two. Connie was preceded in death by her parents; Clarence and Bessie Angvick and two brothers; Michael and Ricky. Connie is survived by her two children; Sandra Perin and Randy Eason; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Teresa; Donna and Vivian; one brother, Larry and two sister friends; LaDawn Garwood and Mary Kile.
