Carolyn Frances Carpenter

September 20, 1938 - December 13, 2021

Carolyn Frances (O'Shea) Carpenter was born on September 20, 1938, in Wapato, WA, to Rosalie and Theodore O’Shea. Carolyn was the youngest girl of six siblings: Bernadine, Beatrice, Regina, James, and Kenneth. Carolyn was a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Carolyn and Clyde were high school sweethearts and they married on August 16, 1958, in Toppenish, WA, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. Together they have six children, Cheryl Carpenter, Collene (Noel Jr.) Gonzales, Joe (Cindy) Carpenter, Cathy (Robert) Lane, Cara (Kert) Johnson, Curt (Jennifer) Carpenter. Together they also have 15 Grandchildren, JaimeLee, Noel lll, Carissa, Bronson, Brandy, C.J., Ryan, Gavin, Gage, Greysen, Gabrielle, Emily, Justin, Casci, and Camille, and 7 Great-grand-children Geovani, Kristina, Darryl, Charlie, Cambell, Griffin, and Stevie. Carolyn was also known as Lynn. Carolyn was very nurturing and deeply loved her six children. She took great joy in taking care of her grandchildren. She was a deeply devoted member of The Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. As a devoted member of the church, Carolyn served as a Parish Council Member as well as being an active member of the prayer chain for many years. After transferring from Wapato High School, she graduated from Granger High School in 1957, she was the salutatorian and class secretary. She went on to graduate from Yakima School of Beauty in 1958. She had a home-based beauty salon for over 30 years. She was also Den Mother for a Webelos Scout Troop. Her hobbies were cooking, gardening, sewing, canning, and taking care of her family. Clyde and Carolyn lived in Cheney while Clyde finished college at Eastern Washington University and Carolyn worked as a beautician. In 1964, they settled in Moses Lake where they have lived ever since. Carolyn passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was very loving, nurturing and was the heart of the family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. There will be a funeral service at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Friday, December 17, 2021. The Rosary is at 2:00 PM, the Mass is at 2:30 PM and there will be a reception to follow.
