September 9, 1969 - November 30, 2016
Our angel on this earth, Brian Gene Clasen, age 47, entered the gates of Heaven on November 30, 2016. Brian was born in Moses Lake Washington on September 9, 1969. Brian was born Down Syndrome. He was a very special child and needed lots of love. God looked the world over to see who Brian’s parents should be. God chose Gene and Shirley Clasen. He was the second child of their four children. Brian spent most of his life in the Moses Lake area. Brian led a simple life. He grew up healthy and happy. In his early years he loved to watch Sesame Street and especially loved Big Bird and Cookie Monster. He loved Mom and Dad. He loved his siblings, who were always his protectors; his big sister Landi and brothers Colby and Cameron. He loved puppy dogs and he loved babies. When his nephews and nieces started arriving, he especially loved each one of them. In his older life one of his favorite pastimes was to listen to Celine Dion’s music as he peacefully sat drinking his Pop and twiddling his straw. He always looked forward to Mom and Dad coming to pick him up, never letting them drive past Dairy Queen without stopping for his much loved hamburger, french fries and a milkshake. If Mom was driving, he would never let Gene sit in the front seat. He would point to the back seat for Gene to enter. He called Dad “Gene” because that is what Mom called him. He would go to the front seat and turn around and look in the back seat and a big smile would come over his face. He knew he was the King and in control with Dad sitting in the back seat. For the past seven years Brian has been excellently cared for and loved by Jamie West. Mom and Dad always knew Brian was happy and secure in his second home. “Thank you Jamie.” Our world became a better place because Brian Gene Clasen was sent to this earth. He taught us so much. He leaves behind his loving parents, Gene and Shirley Clasen, Sister Landi (Kevin) Lee, Brothers Colby (Stacey) Clasen, Cameron (Stacie) Clasen, Nephews, Taylor, Brandon (Arianna), Austin, Chase and Colter; Nieces Marissa, Skyler, Santana, Catie and Kylie. Brian also leaves behind his aunts and uncles and lots of cousins who loved him with all their hearts. He also leaves behind his good friend Jamie West. Brian was greeted with open arms into Heaven by his grandparents Ralph and Crystal Clasen, grandmother Laurene Wallace and his cousins Jason Huffman, Tim Patterson and Jamie (Anderson) Dirks. Brian’s life was content and full of the love of his family. He knew he was loved, without any doubt, and was happy and carefree. Brian, we know you are smiling down on us as you are sipping on your pop and twiddling your straw while singing and dancing to your beloved music of Celine Dion. “While we try to teach our children all about life, our children end up teaching us what life is all about.” We will celebrate Brian’s life on December 10, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Redeemer Presbyterian Church of Ephrata, 172 Ivy St SE, Ephrata, WA 98823. Arrangements are being handled by Kayser’s Chapel of Memories, Moses Lake, Washington.
