Wallace Elmo Bergeson

WALLACE ELMO BERGESON May 19, 1933 – November 3, 2019 Wallace “Wally” Elmo Bergeson was born on May 19, 1933 in Blackfoot, ID to Phyllis Mae (Packam) and Elmo Judson Bergeson. Wally’s mother passed away when he was five years old. He was raised in southern Idaho by his father and stepmother, Alice, along with his mother’s family. As a teenager his family moved to Homedale Idaho, where he enjoyed school sports, especially as a “hot shot” basketball player. He continued to be a sports enthusiast throughout his life. Wally met the love of his life, Martha B. (Leavitt) while living in Homedale. They were married August 5, 1953 in the Idaho Falls Temple. They settled in Moses Lake, Washington in 1955, where they continued to grow their family. They had seven children, three daughters and four sons. Daughters include: Nancy (Steve) Fuhriman, Shauna (Bruce) Roylance, both of Moses Lake, and the late Janae (Calvin) White of Wenatchee. Sons include: Randeel (Cheri) Bergeson of Moses Lake, Keith (Bonnie) Bergeson of Friendswood, Texas, Brett (Janet) Bergeson of Tucson, Arizona, and Steven Kyle Bergeson. He is survived by 32 grandchildren, 85 great grandchildren, three sisters and one brother. Wally was proceeded in death by his parents Phyllis and Elmo Bergeson, Alice Bergeson Walker, one son - Steven Kyle, a daughter – Janae, and two brothers – Keath and Brent Bergeson. Wally and Martha established a home in the Columbia Basin. Farming was a way of life Wally knew and loved. Farming ran deep in Wally’s blood. His prized possessions were his John Deere tractors and an International combine. Everyone knew Wally by his great sense of humor and contagious laugh. Wally was a true family man and loved the gospel of Jesus Christ. He served in many capacities within the church and community. Wally will be greatly missed having touched the lives of numerous people throughout his long life. Viewing will be held at Kayser’s Chapel of Memories, 831 South Pioneer Way, on Friday, November 8th from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 9th, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1515 South Division Street. Prior to the funeral a viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-10:45am. Interment services will be at Pioneer Memorial Gardens, 14403 Road 2 N.E., Moses Lake, WA.
