Sharon "Sherry" Ketcham

Sharon “Sherry” Isabelle Ketcham , 71, went to heaven in the loving arms of Jesus Christ, on Saturday, June 5, 2010, from her home in Moses Lake. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, at 1142 West Ivy Avenue, Moses Lake, with Dr. Paul Wagner officiating. Sherry was born on January 14, 1939, in Puyallup, Washington. She was the oldest of two children born to Jack and Lorraine McRae. In 1957, Sherry graduated Salutatorian with honors from Centralia, Washington, High School. Her first adult years were devoted to raising her five children. She was an excellent Mother finding the wonderful balance of love, encouragement, humor and instruction. Sherry was an excellent administrator, bookkeeper, and real estate agent. Sherry’s favorite job was Social Services Director. Her kind, gentle, loving and funny spirit resulted in everyone loving her. She especially loved extended family gatherings and campouts, where laughter and antics abounded. In 1986, Sherry married the love of her life, Robert Ketcham. They enjoyed an excellent life together for 24 years. Both faithful in Christ, and devoted to each other, they embarked on an adventure that Sherry had only dreamed of. They travelled the United States managing campgrounds and vacationing in beautiful locations. Sherry loved all the people she met and enjoyed God’s nature tremendously. Sherry leaves behind her devoted husband, Robert Ketcham, who lovingly, diligently and completely cared for her at their home during her battle with cancer. Her faithful attendants were her adorable and loving dogs Precious and Smokey, who never left her side. Sherry’s loving nature and sense of humor never left even during her illness. She set an example of faith, courage and determination for us all. Sherry is survived by her only sister, Lynne (Gene) Pope, who resides in Moses Lake. She is also survived by her five children, Laurie (Scott) Newman, Jeffrey (Pat) Berry, Kimberly (Michael) Gonzalez, Juliana Wild, and Susan McKnight, and three additional children by marriage: Kathy (Joe) Yencich, Karen (Dick) McConaghy, and Stacey (Tadd) Anderson; 20 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Sherry’s bright smile and sunny spirit will be greatly missed and forever remembered by many who loved her deeply. Dear God, thank you for Sherry.
