Nicholas Todd Olson

Nicholas (Nick) Todd Olson Born July 4, 1967, in Moses Lake, WA. Being born on the 4th of July was fitting for Nick. Growing up, he was like a firecracker—full of energy and mischief. He loved to laugh and giggle, especially during church. Nick was raised in Warden, WA, where he enjoyed working with his dad on the farm. Changing water, driving tractors and the work truck were some of his favorite activities as a child. Nick also had a deep love for sports, particularly wrestling, and he proudly competed on the Warden Cougar wrestling team. He was also passionate about football—though small in size, he was fast and determined. Nick married Sharma Stout in 1984, and they had a son, Ryan Nicholas. Tragically, Ryan passed away at just three weeks old due to SIDS. Ryan’s passing was an incredibly difficult time for Nick and Sharma. In 1986, Nick joined the Army National Guard. After completing basic training, he moved to Hayward, Wisconsin, where he met and married Tammy Wade. Together, they had two sons, Steffon Todd and Seth Michael. Nick was a devoted father who enjoyed spending time with his boys, especially participating in baseball while they were growing up. In 1990, Nick joined the Navy and proudly served for four years aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. After his service, Nick returned to Warden with his family for two years before moving back to Hayward, Wisconsin. It was in Hayward that he became a Deputy Sheriff. Nick also followed his family tradition and helped lead the establishment of Hayward’s first demolition derby. Once both of his sons graduated from high school, Nick returned to Warden and began working at REC. Nick later met and married Mischelle Johnson. They lived in Moses Lake and raised daughters, Crystal and Jesica, and son, Kevin. In his final years, Nick worked as a long-haul truck driver until illness forced him to retire. He spent time in and out of the hospital before peacefully passing away at his home on March 3, 2025. Nick is survived by: Parents: Father Edward and stepmother Lorrie Olson; Mother Linda Carol Hollandsworth Shisler. Siblings: Mike (Christy), Brian (Veronica), Kevin (Amy), Mishelle (Kyle), Michael (Jamie), Tyson (Vanessa). Sons: Steffon (Kelly), Seth. Grandchildren: Joise, Mckenzie, Nora, Owen, Khaleesi, Corbine. Stepchildren: Crystal (Albert), Kevin, Jesica. Step-grandchildren: Grace, Hayden, Spencer, Rachel, Kyra, Kameron, Avah. Nick also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
