Marlene Gail Watson

Marlene Gail Watson, aged 75, passed away on July 21, 2023, surrounded by her daughters and sisters. Marlene was taken from us by cancer. It was a short illness, as she chose to live her best life and not endure chemotherapy. Born on June 13,1948 in Redmond Oregon, to Foyt (Joe) and Alberta Varbel, the oldest of 4 girls. In 1954, the family moved to Moses Lake, Wa. to a home on the lake in Cascade Valley. One of Marlene's fondest memories was catching pollywogs and watching them grow into frogs. She had an intense love for any and all animals, birds, fish, mammals, amphibians and reptiles, owning several different varieties in each class. Including: a badger, birds, cats, cattle, chipmunk, chinchillas, dogs, ducks, donkey, ferrets, fish, frogs, gerbils, goats, hamsters, hedgehogs, horses, lizards, miniature ponies, pigs, rats, sheep and turtles. Marlene could never turn away a homeless animal, often adopting and nursing back to health God's creatures. Marlene had several jobs throughout her life. Her first job was in a camera store in downtown Seattle. While working there she bought her mother one of the first Polaroid cameras. She worked on various ranches in Washington and Montana as a ranch hand and a ranch cook, cooking for all the cowboys. She loved everything about the western lifestyle but working with the cowboys were her favorite thing about ranch life. She spent the last 25 years as an insurance agent. Her customers loved her smile and superb customer service. Marlene loved her family. She especially enjoyed spending girl weekends and sister weekends with all the girls. Marlene and her sisters Cindy, Darla and Ranodda were very close and had a special bond. Marlene brought 3 children into the world, Jodie, Shawn and Julie. She had an undeniable bond with all of them. She adored all her children and was very proud of them and their accomplishments in life. Shawn’s wife Alane and Julie’s husband Steve were her children as well. She adored them and was very proud of them. She adored her grandchildren and their spouses. Kara and Dale, Ty and Lydia, Amber and Luis, Casey and Kiana, Alyssa and Alex, Taylore and Slaten, Stevie and Miguel and the single girls, Mariah and Holly. Her great grandchildren were very precious to her. Jedediah, Willa, Helen, Genevieve, Ani, James, Evelyn, Jax, Rose, Jensen, Ezra and one on the way. Marlene was in love many times in her life. Married to Keith Lublin, Tim Dinsdale, Tom Gamble, Rick Pedder and Bill Watson. Marlene had many interests and talents. She love crafting. She did ceramics, painted, drew, knitted, crocheted, scrapbooking and clay modeling to name a few. She was a writer and could express herself elegantly through the written word. She had many wonderful lifelong friends she loved and who loved her. She never met a stranger, gave the best hugs and always greeted and left you with a kiss. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Proceeded in death by her parents, Foyt and Alberta Varbel, her great grandson Jedediah, her husbands, Keith Lublin, Tim Dinsdale, Tom Gamble, Rick Pedder and Bill Watson. Survived by her children and their spouses: Jodie and Jim Gillmore, Shawn and Alane Dinsdale and Julie and Steve Slack. Nine grandchildren and their spouses. Twelve great grandchildren. Sisters and their spouses: Cindy and Richard Shurtz, Darla and Dee Cornelsen and Ranodda and Noel DeChambeau. Lots of nieces and nephews she loved as well. Memorial service will be held Friday 28th at 11:00. Rose Street Chapel. 1036 Rose Ave. Moses Lake, Wa.
