Mark Allen Hofstetter

Mark Allen Hofstetter, 63, passed away on February 19, 2026, surrounded by his family. Mark was born on January 15, 1963. He lived a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and deep pride in his family. He was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who loved his children and grandchildren very much and took great pride in the people they became. For his entire adult life, Mark dedicated himself to his family’s business, R&M Auto Sales, working alongside his father, Richard. The car lot was more than just work, it was a lifelong commitment, partnership and relationship building, built over decades. Through long hours and changing seasons, he remained devoted to the business and the legacy it represented. Mark had a lifelong love of sports. He was a devoted fan of the Seattle Seahawks and rarely missed a game. Sundays during football season were spoken for, and he celebrated their victories with enthusiasm. He was especially happy that he got to see them win the Super Bowl again… a memory that brought him tremendous joy. Beyond football, he simply loved sports of all kinds. In his younger years, Mark had an adventurous spirit. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes, boating, water skiing, and pushing limits through extreme sports. He was also an incredible bowler and spent decades competing on a bowling team with family and friends, a pastime that brought him pride and camaraderie until physical pain made it too difficult to continue. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, Caroline, at the Northern Quest Resort & Casino, where the two shared many fun and memorable moments together. It became a cherished birthday tradition for him. Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Caroline Hofstetter; his cherished children, Danielle and Colton Hofstetter, Jon-Erik Surface (Dalila), Jimi-Lee (Junnelly) Surface, Celina Garcia (Anthony), David and Kaylie Garcia; his brother and best friend, Brian Hofstetter; and his beloved grandchildren, Porter, Kennedy, RJ, McKenzie, Dallas, Jaxson, Donnie, and Cairo. He was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy; his father, Richard; and his older brother, Curt. Mark’s life was rooted in commitment, to his work, to his interests, and to his family. There was never doubt that he loved his family and was proud of them. He will be remembered for his determination, his love of sports, and the lasting imprint he leaves on those who knew him. A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at Restore City Church on March 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Seattle Seahawks attire is highly encouraged.
