Lynn Ann Turley Bair

Lynn Ann Turley Bair, beloved mother, devoted grandmother, faithful friend and long-time resident of Moses Lake, Washington, passed away peacefully in her home with her daughter in attendance on Friday, August 9, 2024. Lynn was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and devoted to serving the Lord with all her heart, might, mind and strength. She consistently provided Christian fellowship to her family, friends, her many community associations and congregation members. Lynn continually emanated the Light of the Lord in the way she humbly served those around her. Lynn was born 26 July 1935 in Winslow, Arizona, to (John) Stan and Bernice Turley. Her sister, Stenna, was born in 1938, followed by brother, John, in 1949. Lynn spent her youth in Arizona and graduated from North Phoenix High School. She then enrolled at Brigham Young University where she met F.L. (Francis) Bair and married her forever sweetheart on 5 January 1955 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. For several years, Lynn and F.L. farmed in Ephrata, Washington with the Bair family, then relocated to Logan, Utah, where F.L. enrolled at Utah State University and received his Bachelor's Degree. During that time, Lynn worked at a local bank. The Bairs moved to Riverside, California, while F.L. worked at the University of California-Riverside and during that time, were blessed with their three children, Neil, Bruce and Tracy. After relocating to Washington state in 1969, the Bairs moved from Richland to Pasco, ultimately landing in Moses Lake in 1976, and where Lynn remained until her passing in 2024. Lynn immersed herself in the Moses Lake community and in many assignments and responsibilities in the LDS church. She was often in leadership positions as a President in the Primary, Young Women's and Relief Society organizations, numerous stake assignments, and as a teacher for many years among individuals of all ages. She especially loved the opportunity to work with the youth and drew from them a great deal of satisfaction, fulfillment and personal growth. Lynn began a craft and woodworking business, which gave her the opportunity to teach and interact with countless individuals in Moses Lake and surrounding areas. She enjoyed that time teaching and meeting new people while also being a hostess, a listener, a sounding board, a comic relief, a shoulder to cry on and a confidante. What began as a hobby in her garage quickly grew into a large number of customers and classes. She had several rules for those in that shop – official and unofficial – among them "No swearing", "What happens in this shop, stays in this shop" and "Bring a snack to share". Her extensive set of woodworking tools and machinery were the envy of all the males within and outside of her family. The nearly 10 years of having this shop provided not only an income but also many close and enduring friendships. In 2003, Lynn closed her business in order to attend to F.L.'s declining health. She assumed the role as his in-home health provider for the next three years. In 2006, F.L. passed away, marking 51 years of marriage. For the next 18 years, Lynn remained very busy, spending time with her children, her grandchildren and with a growing number of great-grandchildren, traveling with family and friends, and pursuing new hobbies. Highly important to her was to be present at as many significant family events as she was able, such as births, blessings, weddings and graduations. Lynn was known for many things, including but not limited to her sense of humor, her faith, her love of Pepsi, her love of flowers, her abundance of decorations for holidays big and small, her homemade cookies, and her willingness to help anyone in need. Lynn is survived by her three children, Neil (Cindy) Bair of San Diego, California; Bruce (Kerry) Bair of Shoreline, Washington and Tracy Franklin of Redmond, Washington; her sister Stenna Andersen of Orem, Utah; her brother John Turley of Show Low, Arizona; and numerous nephews and nieces. Lynn held dear to her heart every one of her eight grandchildren – Lyndsey (Nathan) Miller, Ryan (Katie) Bair, Trey (Tara) Bair, Jillian Bair, Alyssa Bair, Mikel (Angela) Bair, Jeff (Ginger) Bair and J.T. Hutchins; as well as her 10 (soon to be 12) great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, 24 August 2024, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, 1515 S. Division Street, Moses Lake, Washington. Additionally, family will greet friends at 10:00 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral service.
