Laura Humphrey

Laura Lee Hardiman Humphrey was born in Boise, Idaho on January 15, 1953. Laura had an inquisitive mind that kept her parents and siblings on their toes. The family lived on two farms in Meridian, Idaho before moving to Moses Lake, Washington in 1962. She graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1971, attended Big Bend Community College, and worked at several retail stores in town. During this time, Laura met the love of her life, Glenn Humphrey, and they had their beautiful daughter, Lorinda. She worked at Cenex for 19 years, until the store closed. From there she went to work for the Moses Lake School District as a custodian, retiring in 2019. She loved her family very much. She was very proud of her husband Glenn's talents and of their daughter, Lorinda. Laura was very dedicated to her husband, especially when his health was failing. She loved her family dearly and was devoted to her husband, daughter, and grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than being a Grandma, except maybe being a Great Grandma! Laura loved to play games of all kinds, had a great sense of humor, and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She liked to travel, shop, meet people, found history exciting, and enjoyed a good book. She attended the Moses Lake Church of the Nazarene and then the Othello Church of the Nazarene after her retirement. She made many friends at church and loved them dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Humphrey and her father, Herbert Hardiman. She is survived by her daughter, Lorinda Besherse, son-in-law, Alan Besherse, grandchildren Matthew (Veronica), Joshua, Ethan (Jasmin), and Renae Welch (Taylor), great grandchildren Zoey, Naomi, and Noah Besherse, her mother Lois Hardiman, siblings Paul Hardiman (Joyce), John Hardiman (Kathy), Jeannie Martinez (Paul), and Dessie Smith (John), and multiple nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at the Othello Church of the Nazarene, 835 S. 10th Ave., Othello, WA, 99344 on October 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. It is the family’s wish, as well as Laura’s, for donations to be made to diabetes research in lieu of flowers. https://donors.diabetes.org
