Javier Martinez Adame

Javier Martinez Adame (Harvey) was born on March 3, 1955 in Crystal City, Texas to Concepcion and Estela Adame. He passed away on August 3, 2008. As a young boy the family settled in the Westlake area of Moses Lake. Attending the local schools and graduating from Moses Lake High School in 1973. He then attended Big Bend Community College and received his degree in appliance repair. He owned and operated Adame Appliance Repair for several years. He was formerly married to Brenda Ferguson on March 27, 1976 and together they have two children, Raquel and Christopher. Javier was a respected and well known man in our community. Harvey was an entrepreneur with so many ideas that he made reality. He was a skilled craftsman who made everything with his bare hands. He was an avid gardener and landscaper who amazed us with his creations. His passion was collecting antiques and loved to show them to everyone who visited with him. He had love and compassion for dogs (Tank). Outdoors was his favorite place to be. He enjoyed camping near Mardon and Buffalo Lake. Taking out his party boat was always a fun time. Fishing in the area lakes guaranteed a fish fry afterwards. The infamous seafood feasts had endless selection. He could be seen cruisin' on his motorcycle and enjoying the fresh air. He loved sitting around a camp fire with friends and family, listening to old rock and roll music and playing along with his harmonica and spoons. Javier embraced life and was always there to lend a helping hand. He was blessed with many friends. He will be missed by those whose lives he touched. Javier is survived by his mother, Estela Adame; three children, John Villarreal of Greeley, Co., Rachel (Hector) Alaniz, and Chris (Brenda) Adame; Four grandchildren, Vanessa and Adrian Alaniz, Jasiah and Jayden Adame; Four brothers, Oscar Martinez of Crystal City, Tx., Rolando Adame of Sunnyside, Wa., Roy Adame, and David Adame; three sisters, Nelvia Adame, Patsy Adame(Gino) , Sandy (Keto) Valdez; his best buddy, Jimmy Meza; and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Concepcion Adame and his brother, Cesar Adame. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Father Felipe Pulido as celebrant. Interment will follow in Pioneer Memorial Gardens.
