Helen Pugh

Helen M. Pugh, 72, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 1, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Moses Lake with Father Felipe Pulido as celebrant. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Spokane. Viewing will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, October 30th from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Helen Margaret Nachtwey was born on July 2, 1938 to Clifford and Marguerite Nachtwey in Spokane, Washington. She graduated from Mead High School in 1956. She married Harold Pugh on April 19, 1958 in Spokane. They lived in several different towns throughout the Northwest while Harold worked in Construction. They had four sons between October of 1959 and September of 1963. They purchased Correll’s Scale Service in 1970 and then moved to Moses Lake in October of 1971. They had their only daughter in February of 1972. Harold and two of their sons died in a plane crash in 1985, leaving her a widow. Helen met her devoted partner, John Paszkeicz, in 2001 and they shared the last nine years together. They made each other very happy and were very devoted to one another. Helen is survived by John Paszkeicz, her children; Steve and Kelly Pugh, Scott Pugh and Laurie Pugh all of Moses Lake, Grandchildren; Aaron Pugh, Joseph (Holly) Pugh, Jeremy (Sarah) Pugh, Jasmine Pugh, Mia Pugh, Brenna Harden, and Cierra Harden, her Great-Grandchildren; Victoria Pugh and Ethan Pugh. She is also survived by her Sister, Bert (Charles) Benson, her brothers, “Skip” and Joe Nachtwey, several nephews, nieces and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Marguerite Nachtwey, her husband, Harold Pugh, two sons, Harold “Allen” Pugh and Duane Pugh, her Granddaughter, Alyssa Harden, one brother, Hobart Nachtwey as well as other members of her extended family. Helen was very active in the Catholic Church and remained a woman of great faith. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. We were so very blessed to have her in our lives.
