Elizabeth Ann Fletcher Fairbanks July 1, 1944 to May 27, 2025 Elizabeth “Ann” Fletcher Fairbanks passed away peacefully at her home on May 27, 2025, at the age of 80. Born ahead of schedule on July 1, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Floyd Claude Fletcher and Elizabeth “Beth” Hopkinson, her early arrival made her very first days uncertain. Called home from his military post in Florida, her father came to meet what doctors feared might be a fleeting life. But Ann rallied, and with the devoted care of her mother and two aunts, she survived and thrived. After the war, her family settled in Boise, Idaho, where Ann grew up with her siblings Kathleen, Kent, and Barbra. She graduated from Boise High School, where she served as president of Future Business Leaders of America. She was active in the youth programs of her church—sports, music and speech competitions. She cultivated a love for sewing and proudly made much of her own clothing. After high school, she attended Boise Junior College. Her academic journey continued at the University of Utah, but her life’s path changed course the summer before, when she met Roger LeRoy Fairbanks. After just a few days, the two were engaged. Ann and Roger were married on July 1, 1965, in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After Roger graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, they settled in Moses Lake, Washington, where they opened a chiropractic practice in December 1966. In 1972, they expanded to a new clinic on Beech Street, and for the next 45 years, Ann worked side-by-side with her husband as his office manager and chiropractic assistant. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ann served faithfully in many roles including Primary chorister, librarian, Relief Society instructor, and as a bishop’s wife. Yet, her most cherished role was that of mother. She is survived by her children and their families: Vaughn and Lee Ann Fairbanks (Joshua, Dallin, and Emma) of Moses Lake; Sheri and Blake Smith (Fletcher, Taylor, Sydney, and Parker) of West Richland, Washington; Kent and Tiffany Fairbanks (Carson, Cheyenne, and Lacey) of Springville, Utah; Lisa and David Van Wagenen (Nathan, Carly, Malena, and Amy) of Minden, Nevada; Tifini Fairbanks; and Sara Fairbanks, both of Moses Lake; great-grandchild James Fairbanks; and her siblings, Kathleen West of Lindon, Utah, Kent Fletcher of Boise, Idaho, and Barbra Moss of Ridgefield, Washington. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Beth Fletcher; her eternal companion, Roger Fairbanks; and two grandchildren, Kevin Van Wagenen and Samantha Fairbanks. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Moses Lake Stake Center, 351 Yonezawa Blvd, Moses Lake. A viewing will be held just prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
