Kenneth D. Tracy

Kenneth (Ken) Dale Tracy Ken Tracy, age 59, passed away on June 2, 2014 surrounded by his family after a courageous, year long, battle against melanoma. Ken was born on September 9, 1954 to Dr. Harold and Gladys Tracy in Moses Lake, WA. As a lifelong resident of Moses Lake, Ken graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1973. He attended Eastern Washington State University where he met the love of his life, Trish Yeats. Ken and Trish were married on August 2, 1980 in Tacoma, Washington. Ken loved spending time outside, which was reflected in his various jobs and his love of hunting. He spent 18 years working at Moses Lake Golf and Country Club on the greens crew and later as greens superintendent. He also enjoyed five years as the green superintendent at Lakeview Country Club. For the last 21 years, Ken has been the sole proprietor of Tracy Irrigation and Landscaping. He always said he was lucky to have the best clients to work for over those many years. Ken is survived by his wife - Trish, daughter - Shannon, son - Bradley, mother - Gladys Tracy, 5 brothers Larry (Nancy), Ron (Bennie), Bob (Ginny), Steve (Cam), and Don, sister – Barb (Jay) Tracy-VanSant, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ken felt honored also to have many close friends. Ken was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Harold Tracy. The family wishes to extend special gratitude to Dr.Thomas Carlson and his staff at Confluence Health-Wenatchee Valley Clinic Radiation Oncology Department for helping us learn to live life to the fullest, even if the time is short. We also thank Hospice for their guidance and care during the last two months. Ken faced his battle with cancer this past year with the philosophy, “You can’t choose your circumstances, but you can choose how you deal with them.” To Ken this meant positively celebrating the best of every day and continually expressing his love for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Youth Outdoor Unlimited, a non-profit organization which takes life threatened or disabled children on hunting or fishing trips, or the Moses Lake Hospice – “Traveling Nurse Foundation”, which funds the supplies and other needs, not paid for by insurance for terminal clients. A memorial service will be held at Moses Lake Presbyterian Church, 1142 W. Ivy, Moses Lake, Wa. at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 7, 2014.
