LaVerne V. Shuck, our beautiful, kind and gracious mother, grandmother, sister and friend was welcomed into Heaven on Thursday, July 19th. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 410 H Street NE, Auburn, WA. Inurnment will be next to her husband in Mountain View Cemetery, Auburn, Washington.
She was born on September 24, 1922 in Glenham, South Dakota, daughter of the late Fred and Hilda (Bohlander) Dupper. Her family moved to the Auburn, Washington area in 1936 where she continued her education. She was married to Harold N. Shuck and they also made Auburn their home. LaVerne was an administrative secretary for the Auburn School District, retiring after many years. She spent many years caring for her mother who lived next door. Four and a half years ago, LaVerne moved to Moses Lake to be close to her daughter, Jeanine and family.
LaVerne enjoyed quilting and traveled to many places including Jerusalem, Australia, Alaska and Germany. She loved to spend time with family and friends. She was an active member in the Auburn Meziah Lutheran Church and also attended the Moses Lake Alliance Church.
She is survived by 2 daughters and one son-in-law, Jeanine & Bill Harper, Moses Lake, and Coreen McCreery, Tacoma; 3 sisters and two brothers, Della & James Pistoresi, Yakima, Virginia & Claude DeVries, Santa Clarita, Ca, Marian Mitchell, Long Beach, CA, Elmer & Norma Dupper, Woncalla, OR, and Marvin Dupper, Tenino, WA; grandchildren, Anisa, Aaron, Geoff, Jay, Bridgette and Greg; great grandchildren, Ali, Malory, Zach, Zoe, Emma, Molly, Mason, Carter, Ella, Mateo, Reyes, Kade, Micah, Kaylene, Maegan, Cameron, Grace and Carson; longtime friend, Bob Gruber; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, daughter Sandra Kay, son Bradley, and two brothers Vernon and Leon Dupper.
