Bridget “Birdie” Brown passed away at age 89 on April 22, 2012 in
Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. She is a long time resident of Moses
Lake since 1949. Birdie is survived by her husband Raymond O. Brown,
two daughters, Roberta Hansen, Alena Hernandez (Miguel), son Richard
Andrews (Cheryl) and one sister, Evelyn Arnold. She leaves behind
eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and five
great-great-grandchildren.
Birdie was a mother to many people who were not her biological kin.
She enjoyed making warm quilts for every single family member and
extended family. To this day there are many adults who still have
their baby quilts. You would often find her crocheting, working on her
rose bushes and planting flowers she loved. Birdie was well known for
her Christmas coffee cakes and so many people wanted to be on the
coffee cake Christmas list. One Christmas she made 40 cakes.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, April
26, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Interment will follow
at Guarding Angels Cemetery, Moses Lake. Please sign the online
guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com
Arrangements are in care of Kayser’s Chapel & Crematory.
Memorial gifts may be made to Humane Society in Moses Lake. Birdie fed
every human or stray animal that showed up at her door step. No one
left hungry.
