Obituary:
Lloyd E. Johnston, 90, longtime Moses Lake resident passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Lake Ridge Care Center in Moses Lake. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday, April 16th and from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 17th at Kayser’s Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Pioneer Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow the graveside at the Moses Lake Eagles Lodge, 1517 W. Broadway. Lloyd was born on January 23, 1922 in Glenns Ferry, Idaho, son of the late Ray and Ruby (Fivecoat) Johnston. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a medical technician. After his honorable discharge he moved to Moses Lake and worked several years for Columbia Basin Machinery. He then decided to start his own business, L & B Electric Motors in Othello which he operated for several years before retiring. Having nine daughters, Lloyd had many opportunities to teach his girls how to fish. Besides fishing, he also enjoyed camping, music, reading, crossword puzzles and walking. Lloyd is survived by 9 daughters and their spouses, LaVonne (Richard) Kennedy, LaVerne (James) Stillwell, LaRaine Rosenow, Linda Galyan, Katherine (Rick) Light, Gayle (Joe) Varney, Merry Kay (Bob) Allen, Ruby Johnston and Rhonda (Jim) Fisher; 23 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 wives, Louise, Velma, and Rose, and two sons-in-law, Richard Rosenow and Kelcy Galyan. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lake Ridge Care Center staff for the kindnesses and loving care given to their father and grandfather.
