Obituary:
Geraldine Mary Hopkins joined the Lord February 28, 2010. She was born January 26, 1919 in Stockton, California. "Gerry" married the love of her life, Dennis, on June 30, 1937. Denny and Gerry resided in Redwood City, California owning and operating H&H Brake Service until moving to Moses Lake in 1963. In Moses Lake, they owned and operated Wait's Motel (now the Sundowner) for the next ten years. After selling the motel in 1971, Mom kept their beautiful lakefront home in order and Dad sold Real Estate. As always, after Dad fully retired, Mom and Dad were inseparable. They were active in several Bridge Clubs and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Mexico with their pick-up and travel trailer. June 30, 2002 was a day to remember for Gerry. She and Denny celebrated 65 years of happiness together along with their all of their kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. After two years of wonderful care at the Puyu Family Group Home, Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep. We have special thanks for Violina, Lubo and the 2 Ivans that have loved and cared for Mom the last days of her wonderful life. Mom will always be remembered for her Grace and Beauty and fantastic cooking-especially her potato salad and clam dip!! Gerry's quick wit and hilarious one liners will always be in the minds of those who knew her. Gerry is survived by her two daughters and husbands: Madeline and Lou Gambelin, Nancy and Everett Ginther. Also her two sons and wives: David and Carole Hopkins, Mark and Gayle Hopkins. Gerry was the proud Grandma to the following: David and Kris Gambelin, Donald and Ann Marie Gambelin, Danny Gambelin, Darrin and Popia Gambelin, Nadine and Walt Harris, Mike and Mary Ginther, Renee' Fritz Hopkins, Nyla Fritz, Lenea Fritz, Robert and Jenn Horst, Ryan Hopkins, Aaron Hopkins, Danny Hopkins and Meghan Hopkins. 15 Great-Grandchildren will also miss Grandma Gerry. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Guarding Angels Cemetery, Moses Lake.
