Obituary:
Garth Chatterton, 74, longtime Moses Lake resident passed away Monday, January 11, 2010 at Columbia Crest Care and Rehabilitation Center in Moses Lake. Garth was born on December 13, 1935 in Pocatello, Idaho. He graduated from Blackfoot High School and attended college in Pocatello, Idaho. He married his high school sweetheart, Joan Neihart, in June of 1955. After marriage, they moved to Moses Lake, Washington, where he pursued a career in the newspaper business as press foreman for the Columbia Basin Herald. Later, he became a co-owner of A & H Printers and retired in 1994. Garth was a member of the Elks Club and a member and past President of the Lyons Club. He was a loving husband and father who would light up the room with his entertaining story telling. He loved to go camping and fishing and was always up for any new adventure. Garth is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley and Teddy Chatterton. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two grandsons, Kacey and Levi. He is survived by his beloved wife Joan of 55 years; his three children, son Kirt Chatterton and his wife Tammy and their children, Kandice, Autumn Breeze and Michael Kole; and daughter Cindy Chatterton and her son Jacob; and daughter Denise Grubb and her husband Joe and their children Codie, Jamie and Matt, four great grandchildren, and one brother, Gary and his wife Sonja. Although he has joined his heavenly father, he will be greatly missed. No funeral services will be held at Garth's request.
