After years of planning and development, construction of Moses Lake’s new community cemetery began in a wheat field in the spring of 2009. Located at 2595 Road L N.E. (between Wheeler Road and Nelson Road), Guarding Angels Cemetery opened in September of 2009. Perpetually endowed, our cemetery has been designed with the community's needs in mind, allowing for: traditional burial sites, family estates, inurnment gardens, columbarium niches, community ossuary, upright monuments, memorial benches, cenotaphs, avenue of flags and more. The beauty of the grounds has been enhanced with different species of trees, hundreds of shrubs, colorful roses and a variety of flowers blooming throughout the spring and summer months. Two large irrigation ponds with lighted fountains provide a dramatic and elegant backdrop to the landscaping. A large maintenance shop and yard area was completed in 2011 providing a secure enclosure for equipment and inventory. Also added in 2011, the "Avenue of Flags" honors deceased veterans on Memorial Day and Veteran's Day with dedicatory plaques for many of the United States flags that are flown. We feel fortunate to provide this tremendous asset for the Moses Lake community, and have greatly appreciated the overwhelming positive response we have received.
